A team from Chinese firm Sinopec International Petroleum Service will be arriving in Ghana beginning December 10, 2011 to start initial works on the country’s gas plant linked to the Jubilee Oilfields, an official at the Ghana National Gas Company (Ghana Gas) has disclosed.
In an exclusive interview with ghanabusinessnews.com, the Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Gas, Dr George Sipa Yankey revealed that, the Chinese firm would be in Ghana this weekend to commence work on the gas infrastructure project to be cited at Bonyere.
Sinopec, according to Ghana Gas, are pre-financing the project ahead of the disbursement of the $3 billion loan facility from the China Development Bank (CDB).
Dr Yankey indicated to ghanabusinessnews.com that there are no conditions attached with the pre-financing saying “Our engineers would vet any job done to ensure that whatever they spend is the actual amount used.”
