VACANT POSITION AT ENERGY COMMISSION
The Energy Commission seeks a: Local Content & Local Participation Coordinator
Objectives of the Position
The objective of the position is to coordinate the implementation and enforcement of the Energy Commission Local Content and Local Participation (LC & LP) Regulations 2017, LI 2354.
Responsibilities:
The person will be required to:
- Coordinate all activities of the LC & LP secretariat;
- Review quarterly reports on employment and training plans submitted by service providers in the electricity supply and renewable energy industries;
- Monitor succession plans of service providers for each employment position not occupied by Ghanaians;
- Monitor the implementation of research and development sub-plans of service providers in relation to local content and local participation;
- Review technology transfer reports on electricity supply and renewable energy service providers;
- Enforce implementation of technology transfer from service providers to Ghanaians and indigenous companies and report to the Local Content Committee;
- Review the implementation of fuel, lubricant and water supply service content;
- Review local content and local participation performance reports;
- Monitor reporting requirements in local content in manufacturing in the electricity supply and renewable energy industries;
- Manage the data bank of available capabilities in the electricity supply and renewable energy industries;
- Inspect records of service providers and report to the Committee’
- Assist with public education on the Local Content and Local Participation Policy;
- Engage in inspection and seizure of electrical equipment, electrical appliances or renewable energy equipment manufactured or imported in contravention of established regulations
Skills Requirements
- Knowledge in relevant Local Content laws in Ghana;
- Good report writing and presentation skills;
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Practical knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Publisher);
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Good work ethics and integrity;
- Passion to deliver results;
- Ability to type and process own documents
Qualifications
- BSc in Electrical/Mechanical Engineer plus MBA
- MSc in Electrical/Mechanical Engineer plus MBA
- BSc/BA in Economics or Statistics & ICT plus MBA
- At least ten (10) years post qualification experience in the Energy Sector;
- Knowledge in Renewable Energy technologies is an advantage.
