    Technical Advisor & Technical Coordinator


    The Ghana Oil and Gas for Inclusive Growth (GOGIG) Programme is funded by DFID and is designed to support Ghana make the most of its new-found oil and gas resources.

    The overall goal is “inclusive economic growth and poverty reduction through Effective management of oil and  gas resources” and the five (5) inter-related outputs the programme is working to deliver are:

    • Enhanced regulation and policy coherence of the oil and gas sector
    • Improvedsystems of oil and gas revenue capture
    • Improved oil and gas revenue management
    • Enhanced oil and gas sector oversight
    • Identification and improved delivery of non-revenue pathways to Inclusive Economic Growth from the oil and gas sector

    Job Summary

    We are seeking to recruit two (2) long-term consultants to join the team in the role of:

    1. Technical Advisor– Responsible for managing the design and implementation of projects aimed at achieving the output around identifying and improving Delivery of Non-Revenue Pathways to Inclusive Economic Growth. Specifically, the Technical Advisor will:
    • Conceptualize and develop projects aimed at delivering Output 5
    • Ensure effective implementation of projects under Output 5, in order to achieve and possibly exceed annual long frame results targets.
    • Develop and manage partnership with government academia, Civil Society and the Media amongst others to deliver programme objectives.

    Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

    • Education to degree level in a subject relevant to GOGIG’S work
    • Significant professional working experience
    • Experience of working on a donor funded programme ideally funded by DFID.
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a range of Programme partners, including government, civil society stakeholders and academic institutions.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
    • The Right to work in Ghana is essential. Successful appointees will be required to provide evidence of right to work.
    1. Technical Coordinator– will be responsible for coordinating support for the effective delivery of work in all 5 output areas. Specifically, the Technical Coordinator will:
    • Contribute to conceptual discussions in order to pull together draft concept notes and project proposals:
    • Undertake scoping work/research/analysis to inform project ideas and be able to write with conceptual clarity.
    • Provide support as needed to expedite project conceptualization, development, monitoring and documentation.

    Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience.

    • Educationto degree level
    • Demonstrate relevant working experience
    • Experienceof working on donor funded Programme ideally funded by DFID
    • Attention to detail and excellent problem solving and management skills
    • High standard of both spoken and written English
    • Numeracy and ability to work with budgets and financial data.
    • Ability to priorities and deliver on multiple support needs of senior level advisors.
    • Competence with Microsoft Office products (word and Excel in particular).
    • The Right to work in Ghana is essential. Successful appointees will be required to provide evidence of right to work.
