Oil, Gas Promotion Should Be Nation’s Priority

  • The President of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), Nana Owusu-Afari says, promoting the Oil and Gas industry should be the nation’s priority.
    Launching the annual exhibition of the oil and gas industry, on the theme; “Promoting local content development in the oil and gas industry “ in Accra, he said for the country to reap the full benefits of the Oil and Gas industry there is the need to add value to the products..

    According to him, the main objective of this year’s exhibition is to promote business between the local and international oil companies operating in the country.

    Nana Owusu-Afari stressed that this year’s exhibition will focus on involving foreign companies in various aspects of the oil and gas industry to strengthen their capacities.

    The Director of Operations at the Ghana National Petroleum company, Mr. Thomas Manu, called on AGI to organise forums occasionally; this he said will serve as a medium for the sector to upgrade their knowledge on issues pertaining to the industry.

    Mr. Manu advised against mediocrity and complacency, which he noted should be the panacea to a thriving Oil and Gas industry in the country.
