Offshore West Africa, the premier and best technical conference and exhibition for offshore industry within the West African Sub-Region, begins in Accra on Tuesday.
Supported by the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), Offshore West Africa 2011 Conference will bring together stakeholders in the petroleum industry to share their experiences.
Mr David Paganie, Director of Offshore Conference, said Offshore West Africa was of high interest to national and international oil companies.
He said with activities in offshore industries in Ghana expected to increase significantly, the world’s eyes were on the country as an emerging offshore province with enormous potential for oil and gas reserves.
Mr Paganie said the high interest in Ghana necessitated Offshore West Africa to return to Ghana again, a decision based on the growing energy industry interest in Ghana and nearby countries.
Over 52 exhibitors are participating in the conference including, Total, LUKOIL, Tullow Oil, SNEPCo, NOV Ghana Ltd, Halliburton, Modec, Sea Trucks Group, ABS, TopRope.
Offshore West Africa provides an annual forum that addresses the technical, environmental and business challenges associated with oil and gas exploration and production in the West African offshore marketplace.
The conference provides a unique networking opportunity for the participants to share technology and address issues with experts in their respective fields.
