Today, Myjoyonline reported NDC MPs boycott committee hearing on “over-priced” $150m AMERI deal. According to the news portal, the Minority in Parliament has boycotted Mines and Energy Committee meeting in parliament considering a $510 million AMERI deal which government says was “over-priced”.Explaining their absence, Chairman of the Committee, Emmanuel Gyamfi, said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentarians do not want to be associated with the decision to demand a $150 million refund.
Also, Starrfmonline reported Gas explosion: LPG marketers not being treated fairly – COPEC. The Chamber of Petroleum Consumers of Ghana (COPEC) has slammed government’s treatment of the LGP gas filling stations following the gas explosion at the Atomic junction in Accra. Seven people died in the explosion with over 130 others suffering various degrees of injury.President Akufo-Addo after a cabinet meeting on the incident last week ordered a shut down of all “high risk” LPG stations in the country. The NPA had since closed down some 21 of such stations.
