Kosmos Energy’s listing on the Ghana Stock Exchange still hangs in the balance as the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) says there is no word yet from the company.
Reports were rife that the Jubilee Oil field partner would list on the Ghana bourse by the end of 2011 but SEC later said correspondence from the company indicated first quarter of 2012.
But two months after quarter one, SEC says there is no official communication yet from Kosmos Energy.
Kosmos is currently facing two lawsuits in the US for alleged securities violations over its Initial Public Offer (IPO) last year.
SEC says it is not aware the legal issues are preventing the American company from listing on the Ghana bourse.
We have worked on areas that are within our power. Currently we are waiting for their offer document. Once they have not brought the prospectus we cannot begin work,” Director General of the Commission Mr. Adu Anane Antwi told Citi News.
Kosmos will become the second Jubilee Oil field partner to list on the Ghana bourse if it’s successful with the processes.
