EPA CALLS FOR PUBLIC COMMENTS ON THE VOLTAIAN BASIN ONSHORE EXPLORATION
The Voltaian Basin is about 104,000 kilometers square onshore oil basin, spread across Ghana with 52 percent of which is located in the Northern Region. Pursuant to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Act 1994, Act 490 and Regulation 16 of the Environmental Assessment Regulations 1999, LI 1652, the Environmental Protection Agency has received a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) from (GNPC) on the proposed 2D seismic on the Onshore Voltaian Basin.
Notice of the proposed 2D seismic project is hereby served for public information as required under the procedure for the conduct of EIA in accordance with Regulations 16(1) of LI 1652. Any person (s) who has an interest, concern, or special knowledge relating to potential environmental effects of the proposed undertaking, may submit written comments within twenty-one (21) days from the date of this notice to the Environmental protection Agency, to assist the Agency in the decision making process of this project.
