The ECOWAS commission, in collaboration with the Government of the Republic of Ghana and AME Trade Ltd will hold first ECOWAS Mining & Petroleum Forum and Exhibition (ECOMOF) on October 6th to 8th in Ghana.
ECOMOF 2015 under the theme ‘Valourising West Africa’s Mineral & Petroleum Resource through Regional Cooperation’ is West Africa’s only institutionally backed regional mining & petroleum forum which aims at Uniting West Africa’s public and private sector decision makers from both mining and petroleum industries, in one place and at one time.
Other objectives includes addressing issues surrounding value addition in West Africa’s mining and oil & gas products, Strengthening trade in mining and oil & gas products within the region and internationally, harmonizing the legal, regulatory and taxation instruments of the sector, Exploring technological advancement in natural resource extraction, the development and synchronization of business codes and practices and increasing the exploration and commercialisation of Bauxite and Iron ore in the West Africa region.
The forum will see about 35 key speakers from the West Africa regions giving in depth lecture on the above issues and highest ranking government delegations from the fifteen West African, ECOWAS members states including Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Cote d’Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo.
